I'm gone, I'm back, I'm gone, back again...

Hi folks

Sorry for my very little updates, studying Sociology at University Antwerp now, which is keeping me extremely busy.
What else has been keeping me busy? Writing half blogpost. YES HALF! And then I don't have time, I get a new idea but once again, I write half a blogpost and then I really need to get back to work.
So, what's been waiting for you all this time?
-A tag post which Anouchka from Life Of Bun has tagged me to do, but I've been waiting to take pictures for like forever.
-Uses of Vaseline (or any cruelty free dupe)
-Fashion trends I don't understand
And I've taken a couple of pics of make up looks but I don't really like publishing my face everywhere on the internet so I've been doubting a lot if I should post them... Then again, why did I start this blog again?
I've been thinking: hey I can do something really quick and easy, like an outfit of the day or weekly little facts, but I never come to it.

I feel like I let you down and I don't even have many eople who read my stuff...
So I'm sorry I'm not a loyal blogger.

Please forgive me?
Love~

Antwerp experience & membership @ WWF

Today is just going to be a quick blogpost about a fun experience today...
I just applied to Antwerp University to study Sociology (I just graduated as a Social Worker, I wanted to go a little further so I'm going to master in Sociology now)

Went shopping for a little bit (I just got some money, can't help it, I need to spend it ;) ) And I went back to the train station to head home...
There were some people from an organisation to stop people and ask them to become member of a good cause, this time it was WWF... I always told myself: I'll do that when I've got a job, then it would definately be WWF... So they stopped me, and I talked to one of them for a while, I felt really bad because I had to turn him down, but hey I don't have an income!
I think we had been talking for 15 minutes until I finally coninued to catch my train... Well I still had a lot of time left, so I just sat there, thinking, watching an old man feed his dog half of his hot dog... And suddenly I realised I felt really bad, I just bought some (cruelty free) make up, I bought some Illamasqua make up last week... Why would this be too much to support? I can cancel it anyway if I really don't have enough money anymore...

So I went back, told the boy he made me feel really bad! And here I am, a new WWF member XD
Apparantly he never experienced something like this either, someone that came back and especially that quick! :D
I'm still not 100% sure if I can keep this up, because I don't know if I can handly Antwerp and its wonderful shops but I'll do my best and comfort myself that I'm doing it all for a good cause. I love WWF anyway so yeah ^^
Oh and I also got a tiger plushie yaaayyyy
Look how sad it looks awwww (mine is orange though :p )

Oh and since I just graduated and got some Illamasqua and sleek goodies, I'll be posting 2 blogposts about those soon ;)

Wish me luck in Antwerp! I think I'm going to make lots of new friends... if not, I'll just kick some ass!! HIYA!
P.S.: People are so kind when I'm alone! In Saturn people helped me right away to find a tv series (maybe because it wasn't busy) and a random guy asked me to drink coffee with him, but I found that a little too scary for now, maybe when I'm more used to Antwerp? He was kind to me though, just didn't want to give the wrong signals you know :p

Love~

7 deadly sins of beauty TAG

This looked like a fun thing to do, so here we go, my first tag!

TAG QUESTIONS

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
Phew, that's a difficult one to start with
For inexpensive I would say either something from Catrice or Essence I bought in a 50% off sale (Kruidvat does that sometimes when things go out of their line...) in the end they would probably cost about 1,50 euro's
My most expensive beauty item would be the Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2 palettes which were around 50 euros each, (but I got 50% off the 2nd product yay)... for skincare it would probably be the Lush Ro's Argan.
Sometimes my mother or sister buy something luxurious from Chanel or other luxurious brands, but they end up using it only once or twice, which I think is a shame. I don't count these to my own stack but I use them, just because it's a pity to waste... I also have no clue of how much these cost and I don't really want to know either!

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
Bright or unusual lip colours... I love how they look!! On other people that is... A red lip is fine, but only when I'm in the mood, but I don't feel good with unusual or very bright lip colours... They make me feel self-concious about my teeth XD

Depending on how you see hard to get products. I don't like buying online so most awesome brands are kind of hard to get. Before I found Urban Decay's Naked in Sephora Breda, I have been looking for it on the internet, but UD didn't ship to Belgium... But now it's not really a big deal anymore... Besides, they're with L'oréal now...
I just wish I could find Illamasqua, LIT, Hard Candy and Inglot in Belgium (and actually so many others as well)

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
My Sephora lip gloss in peach tastes so yummy and sweet, but I'm not sure about its cruelty free status
I also love Burt's Bees lip balms and their smell... And Tony Moly has delicious tinted lip balms as well XD

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
Lip liners, lipsticks... I'm not much of a lip-girl, I actually just love putting on a lip balm (sometimes tinted) and I'm good to go
I also don't contour and barely ever highlight
When really lazy I don't use eye primer, I barely ever use face primer

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
I feel best with a simple black eye liner... Still looking for the perfect replacement for the Lancôme Artliner, but I'm feeling happy with my Sleek and Too faced ones as well
and a black wing also needs a good coat of mascara ;)
Apart from that, covering up my redness with some BB cream is also pretty awesome :p

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I fell for my boyfriend's eyelashes XD I used to think he wora mascara, but apparantly he doesn't :p
I also like a good smile and kinda muscular body... But never overdo things! A slight belly is just fine for me, nice and soft yay :p

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
There's so much I would like to receive! But at the moment I really want the Illamasqua liquid liners, liquid metal palette (art of darkness) and pure pigments... Maybe I'm going to buy them in sale?
Other than that I would love the lime crime carousel lipgloss in snowsicle

That's all!
I hope you enjoyed reading this, I tag all of you that want to do this! Post your link below and I'll read yours as well ^^

Lancôme Artliner replacements

Hi folks!
Long timeno blogging (sorryyyyyyy I've been terribly busy with my internship and I haven't had the time or energy to write about all kinds of subjects I had to do a lot of research for)
But I have found something new to write about ^^
For a while, I have been looking for the perfect cruelty free replacement for my favourite (liquid) eye liner: Art Liner by Lancôme. I've been reading a couple reviews and decided to try out a few, here are the ones I decided to give a go:

Too Faced 3*Way Lash Lining Tool

I like the formula of this eye liner, but I'm not very fond of the brush. It's supposed to be very easy for people who aren't great with using eye liner, but I find it very difficult to use because of the brush. I find it hard to dot in between my lashes which gives me a very uneven line... so I try to go over it again to make it more even and I get a thicker line... Not my favrouite eye liner for a thin line, but since it's still nice black and stays all day, I like to use it for a slightly bigger line. I really like that this brush is velvet though, not hard on my eyes at all!
Price: $22 on the website, €21 in Sephora Breda (I got 10% off)
Formula: Nice opaque black, long lasting
Brush: Slightly difficult to use (while it's supposed to be easier), nice felt brush
Waterproof: No
Vegan: Yes
Other plus-sides:no fragrance, dries rather quickly, longlasting
Other downsides: Haven't found it in Belgium yet so I have to go to the Netherlands to get it, need more practice

My verdict: 8/10
If I get more practice, I'll definately love this one even more and it will be an awesome replacement

Sleek Dip It Eyeliner

I love this one!! Sometimes drugstore make up doens't give me the opaque black I want or irritates my eyes (happened once with a gosh eye liner). This one is a good opaque black, doesn't irritate my eyes, and it's user-friendly, I'm able to make very thin lines with this one. The brush doesn't bend as much as the Artliner does, but it's also a felt tip or very similar ^^ It's smaller than the Artliner (and because of that it appears to be thicker, which will be more clear in the pictures below)
Sometimes I get a little too much on my brush so I clean it off a little at the bottle. I also sometimes need just a little bit more but dipping it back in gives me way too much product. I would have liked it better if the liquid would not be in a bottle but inside of the pen...

Price: €5,50 on the website, I paid €4,99 in Jinny's (Antwerp)
Brush: Rather small brush, felt tip? Quite easy to use, could be longer (maybe thinner at the end?) and more bendable

Waterproof: No
Vegan: No (but vegetarian)
Other plus-sides: longlasting, lots of colours

Other downsides: difficult to get the right amount of product, applying too much makes drying-time longer

My verdict: 8,5/10
Rating this one was difficult because I feel like I'm more fond of this one, because it's so cheap and I think I like both the Too Faced and Sleek eye liners just as much... But looking at the price... Also like this brush a little better, but I liked it better that the Too faced one has it's liquid inside the pen instead of a bottle.

Others I would like to try out: Illamasqua Precision Ink (It looks like it would have an awesome brush, I feel like that one would be the perfect replacement XD )

Here are the pictures of the eye liners:

Sleek Dip It Eyeliner

As you can tell: the Artliner has the longest, finest brush, it's also more bendable which makes it so easy to follow your lashline.
With these two it's at least not as hard to say goodbye to the Artliner once it's finished....

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be working for school and internship now. But first, I need some sleep!

How to: clean your make up brushes

Hi there!

Most of you will know that you need to clean your make up brushes. It's more hygienic to clean them after every use. Otherwise, make up, germs and dead skin cells will pile up on your brushes.
To be honest, I didn't clean my make up brushes, I just wiped them off, which caused me to use a make up brush for almost 5 years without ever really cleaning it (don't get me wrong, I only used it once in a while... but it doesn't take away that it's just a bad thing to do...)

But I started to clean my make up brushes. First I looked up how I should do it, but I figured, I don't have any of those special cleaning-tools. Another website told me to use baby shampoo and tea tree oil, but we don't have any of that at home either. So I just started to use products I have at home... Heres what I use and do:

A cup of warm water
2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner (a mild shampoo or a babyshampoo will also do the trick)
Olive oil

Fill the cup halfway (or how much you want, depending on how many brushes you want to clean and how dirty they are) with warm water. Add a bit of shampoo (about a teaspoon, I just squeeze my bottle a bit until I'm satisfied) and a few drops of olive oil (also about a teaspoon, I usually just guess and hope I don't use too much or little)
The shampoo will clean them (and the conditioning part of the shampoo will keep the brushes soft) and the olive oil will keep your brushes nice and soft

Put the brushes in the water and stir until your water starts to foam a bit and the olive oil gets mixed in the water.

One by one, wash the brushes, use your fingers to get them all clean. I scratch a little bit in between the bristles to look if they're clean. You can see the dirt under your fingernails if they're not ^^. Do this for at least 30 seconds, but depending on how dirty they are you can do this longer.

Rinse your brushes off with warm water to get all of the shampoo out (remember the pain it causes when you get shampoo in your eyes?). I use my fingers to spread the bristles here as well and hold them one by one under the running water.

Wipe the brushes of with a clean towel en leave them to dry. Your make up brushes are as good as new ^^ Don't be like I was! Clean your make up brushes!!

Hope you'll have a nice day!
Love~

Happy back to school

Hi there!

It's september and people are going to school. Usually, when I go to school, I don't do anything dramatic, I keep it natural but try to add a little colour, because colours make me happy :). I think school or work make up should be appropriate, quick and easy.

Now, on makeupbee.com, there's a competition going on. I entered my back to school look. I would love for you to vote for my look here:

I hope you'll like the make up and maybe try it out sometime ^^

The products I've used are mentioned on my page as well!

Have a nice day!

Cruelty free make up: where to find it???

Because I myself seem to have difficulties to find cruelty free make up in Belgium, I thought I would make a new post of this. I'm not a big fan of buying online, even though I never actually had problems with it. I will post only the make up brands I have found until now in Belgium, the Netherlands and in London also.

Belgium
Gosh - Kruidvat
Catrice - Kruidvat
Essence - Kruidvat
Tony Moly - Hype Store (Antwerp)
Lush (emotional brilliance) - Lush (Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Liège)
H&M - H&M
The Body Shop (although this is actually owned by L'oreal, but The Body Shop itself doesn't test on animals. I find this in the grey area as L'oreal profits from an ethical brand)

Netherlands
In the Netherlands you can also find Kruidvat and Lush stores, but here are a couple of brands that I haven't found in Belgium yet.
Too Faced - Sephora (Breda, Rotterdam, The Hague, ... Check here for your nearest Sephora.)
Urban Decay - Sephora (Untill now I haven't seen it in Breda, but there should be some in the bigger Sephoras)

London
Illamasqua - Selfridges, Illamasqua (I went to Beak Streat in Soho, but I'm sure there are others as well)
Sleek - Superdrug (found one in Camden)
Barry M - Superdrug
Stargazer - Darkside (in Camden)
And apparantly Topshop doesn't test on animals either

If you are concerned about Urban Decay and Too Faced selling to china and therefore testing on animals: they decided not to and stay cruelty free. So bravo for them! <3

I hope I will be able to find more cruelty free make up brands so I can update this list!
For more cruelty free brands and where you can find them, you can go to my page cruelty free cosmetic brands
I will update this page whenever I find a new brand :)

Have a nice day ^^
Love~
